Macro and micro elements content in Malvasia istriana
Malvasia istriana white is autochtonous and main grape variety in Istria with very good biological potential, that can provide high quality of wines if appropriate enological practice is used. The aim of this study was to determine the mineral content of Malvasia istriana wines from different vineyards and different vintages in order to find possible differences between them, respecting all other factors. The measuremet was performed with a sequential inductively coupled plasama-optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) Optima 2000. The content of cadmium and arsenic were below limit detection in all samples, and content of other toxic elements (Zn, Pb, Al, Fe, Cu) were below minimum quantity prescriptive by wine regulation. The difference in content of K, Ca, Mg, and Na between wines, origin from different years and viticulture areas can be evident.
