OPTIMIZATION OF FEED DRIVES FOR HIGH DYNAMIC MACHINING PROCESSES
Customer demands for higher productivity and flexibility of machining systems are often cause of running some machine modules on upper values of project defined application range considering machine dynamic. Improvements of control module together with requests for higher machine availability and durability set particular attention to the optimization of machining process kinetic. In order to benefit the advantages and potentials of servo drives, impact loads should be reduced, in particular on short distance rapid movements with high accelerations and decelerations. The paper presents the analysis of measured control unit signals used for determination of load and dynamic behavior of individual axis during machining and at the same time the measured acceleration values of individual axis in order to find out real axis response to requested dynamic. The goal is to determine the load characteristics and possible improvements in order to optimize the ball screws duration.
