Application of FE methods in design processes of restiffening tools
Numerical method, known as Finite Element Method (FEM), is being used in echanical engineering, mostly for research and product development, but also in production processes. In this paper are presented cases of FEM application in design processes of special tools for restiffening. These tools, known as jig, have application in weld and heat treatment processes of Hot Gas Turbine parts. The aim of these tools is to keep the main dimensions of parts in demanded tolerances during weld and heat treatment processes. Two cases of stiffness evaluation of restiffening tools for Hot Gas Casing parts are described and presented in this paper.
