A vision of tourism and the hotel industry in the 21st Century

The aim of this paper is to indicate the aspects of tourism and the hotel industry of the future in view of predictable social and economical conditions, and changes in the lives and work of people- tourists of the 21st century. Tourism and the hotel industry will become one of the largest world industries. The globalization (unification) and localization (diversification) processes will designate both world tourism and regional tourism. A balance of economy and ecology will be achieved in tourism. This paper pursues the answers to the question: Who will the tourists of the future? What kind of needs and wishes they will have? Work composition: following the introduction, detailed guidelines for tourism and the hotel industry of the future are proposed, and future hotel models delineated.
