The prevalence of gastroesophageal reflux disease in adult asthmatic patients : the importance of exhaled markers in airway inflammation
GERD is important clinical problem in asthmatic patients, and severity of GERD seems to be associated with increased airway inflammation. The non-invasive direct measurement of NO in exhaled breath condensate may be very useful for monitoring airway inflammation and response to treatment in pulmonary inflammatory diseases.
