The Influence of Transition and Financial Liberalization on Transfer of Knowledge in Croatia
Financial institutions, especially banks, in Croatia have passed through several different phases, just like banks in other Central and Eastern European countries that have passed the transformation from socialism to capitalism. During this journey which started at the beginning of 90-this (and is still in progress) banks in Croatia have passed true three main phases: sanation which was made by government financed from citizens’ money, than phase of fitting into global trends such as deregulation and increasing capital mobility. Following the rhythm of these changes it becomes very hard for the teachers to establish what kind of knowledge and skills will their students need tomorrow. This survey has given the answer to the question how does the fast development in banking industry affect quality of educational programs in field of finance and banking. Answer that we got is load and clear ; banks need future employees with actuated knowledge. In order to achieve this goal it is necessary to minimize the time gap between bank needs and demands and educational programs. The only way to create high quality programs is to make better connection between banks and educational institutions. As it is shown in the results of this research interest in banks exist, but it is necessary to develop project that will increase transfer of information between this two subjects and that will decrease time necessary to make it happen.
