Network Problems Frequency Detection Using Apriori Algorithm

The conceptual view of a network resource that can be managed is known as a managed object (MO). Managed object has capability to generate unsolicited messages known as notifications. In fault management area, notification contains details about network resource malfunction. Typically, network problems are presented as a set of notifications, generated by one or more managed objects. Crucial question is how to recognize global network problem as well as its appearance frequency based on number of notifications received from different managed objects? This paper describes potential usage of mathematical Apriori algorithm, which is primarily aimed to generate frequent itemsets and confident association rules, for network problems frequency detection. Paper conclusion presents way of Apriori's implementation in fault management area.
