And what about our rights? Case study of minority religious communities in Croatia.
A legal and social position of minority religious communities in transitional period in Croatia has been changed. According to Law on legal position of religious communities, all existing communities got opportunity to register themselves and propositions for newly or potentially founded communities has been stipulated. The Law gave religious communities the possibility to conclude the treaty (of mutual interest) with the state, similar to treaties Catholic Church concluded before the reaching the Law. Certain number of communities did it soon. A few year later three religious communities (“ Full Gospel” , “ Riječ života – Word of Life” and Protestant Reformed Church in Republic of Croatia” ) have been enabled by the Government to conclude the similar treaty with the State, on the basis of document called Conclusion in which the Government changed propositions for new treaties. At the same time, some religious communities have been registered in spite they did not fulfill these conditions. A case study show the relation of the state towards minority religious communities ; the differences between their normative and real status and the reactions of these minority religious communities towards legal solutions.
