Computer aid for designing production systems
Production system design is a series of methods aimed at defining a production system capable of achieving the required economic, manufacturing and social criteria. That process is a very complex activity where incorporating all the significant influential factors is due to their number and complex interaction rationally possible only with compute aid. Paper contains the description of use and the basis elements of IPSD (Interactive Production System Designer) software package that enables users/designers to complete a significant number of production system design activities by computer. The IPSD software is an Intranet application based on modern information concepts such as: client - server technology, relational databases and open architecture.
