Numerical Modelling of Buttonhole Reinforcements Using Finite Element Method
Aim of this work is numerical and experimental investigation of stresses and deformation in vicinity of rectangular reinforcement of button holes. Experimental measuring was carried out on strength tester as tensile strip test. Numerical procedure consists in nonlinear numerical analysis of deformations and stresses of flexible material such as textile in plane stress using finite element method. In this paper results of numerical investigations for different parameters of geometry of rectangular reinforcement around straight button holes are presented. Based on given results it is evident that maximum stresses occur in the reinforcement of button holes which serves to prevent further damage of fabric during usage and mechanical loading.
