Verification of a Transport Network Database Model

First step in development of an information system for Transport Network management is to find successful database model that will store relevant data about transport network. The database model has to be based on ITU-T recommendations, provide description of Transport Network elements and functionality regardless of telecommunication Equipment used and operational system on which it will be implemented. This paper describes development of such database model, and points out its basic advantages through verification on an sample telecom network.
