The characteristics of earthworm (Lumbricidae) communities along vertically stratified transect of Velika Kapela Mountain grasslands (Croatia)
The differences in the fauna of Lumbricidae between sampling sites are considerable in both quantitative and qualitative sense. Although the difference in the inorganic composition of soil and consequently in physico-chemical properties exist, from the results noticeable influence of climatic determinants (temperature, humidity) as well as vegetation factors can be implied. Jacknife1 and Jacknife2 turned out to be the most suitable species richness estimators for this study area.
