Analyse of Influence of the Key Factors of Damages on Knitwear in the Process of Sewing

Factors are discussed, which, individually or together, influence the level of sewing needle penetration force, as well as loop damages in the process of sewing knitted articles of clothing. New equipment is introduced, with the aim of investigating and accurately defining loop damages in knitted fabric seams. Contemporary measuring system is also described, aimed at assessing the sewing needle penetration force. Investigations performed indicate a high degree of correlation between loop damages and the level of sewing penetration force. By optimising key factors and checking them under laboratory conditions, following the methods chosen, it is possible to obtain much better results regarding the quality of knitwear production.
