The Romanesque Routes of European Heritage (Aquilar de Campo, Spain, 26 September 2008

On September 26th 2008, Annual General Assembly of Members of "Transromanica" – The Romanesque Routes of European Heritage was held in Aguilar de Campoo, Spain. Gathered 23 participants, Assembly presented several activities which were completed, besides them the most important were modification of the statute and the integration of two new members. Statute Changes "Transromanica" was founded under German law with its seat in Magdeburg. The aim of a non-profit-organization is defined to cultivate the general public in material, spiritual and ethnical way while acting unselfish (without the aim of gaining money). If an association under German law respects this definition, it benefits from lower tax rate. Non-profit organizations can have earnings, but then have to consider several fiscal stages. With the help of statute, "Transromanica" was examined by fiscal authorities concerning the definition of a non-profit organization. Since authorities stated that the statute is not corresponding to a "non-profit" association, "Transromanica" has the chance to revise the statute and than let it be examined again. The changes of the statute were accepted by general assembly and the amended statute was presented once more to the financial authorities who will decide over the status as non-profit organization. New Dimension of "Transromanica" The Romanesque heritage in the region of Castile and Leon was elected as full network member of "Transromanica" and the Romanesque Abbey Santa Maria di Vezzolano was elected as single-site-member with membership due came into force from the beginning of January 2009 on. New Projects: "CrossCulTour" and "SyncCulTour" In the period from 2008 to 2011, there is again the chance to receive EU-funding within the INTERREG IVB programme. Because of that, "Transromanica" as association, as well as certain members (belonging to the programme area of Central Europe) joined to the project "CrossCulTour", which is the acronym for "Cross Marketing Strategies for Culture and Tourism for more Attractiveness and Competitiveness for Cities and Regions". Carinthia, Modena, Lamoro Development Agency for Piedmont-region, Saxony-Anhalt, Slovenia and Thuringia are partners among this programme, all located in the Central Europe area. The INTERREG project "CrossCulTour" was submitted in April 2008. Slovenian partners took the initiative and submitted another proposal called "SynCulTour" which comprises partners in South East Europe (Slovenia, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Republic of Moldova). The acronym stands for "Synergies of Culture and Tourism for Sustainable Growth and Integration of Regions". This programme will run from March 2009 to December 2011, but it still has to be approved by the Monitoring Committee of INTERREG (final decision for mid-October 2009).
