Human role in accepting positive aspects of change in project management
Change is the only constant. Although it is very familiar issue, it seems as the world is more and more transformable and changes are faster than ever. Allowing changes to happen is one of the biggest challenges of modern business. Organisations don't adapt to change ; their people do. Human behaviour is complex, and this might be the reason why idiosyncratic human element is overlooked again and again in change projects. The top obstacle for successful change is resistance and wrong timing, and the top reason for that is a lack of awareness of the change and why the change is needed. In this paper the barriers of human side of adopting change are discussed, along with the skills required from a qualified project manager to manage them. The research is conducted in Croatia.
