Analysing European Integration: Complexity Paradigm, English School and Neorealist Theory
Complexity has always been a problem to all those who tried to understand the dynamics of the European integration. By analyzing the main concepts of the English school - the international society, the world society and the empire - our attempt was to contextualize some current discussion on the nature of the European Unuion. The neorealist theory approach and its typology of the balance of power allowed us to perceive the European Union as the "integrative system of balance" and the European integration as the common response of all European states to systemic and subsystemic challenges.
