The Remote Sensing on the Croatian coast
In the paper present the results of the analysis of aerial photographs and images on a number of Croatian archaeology sites. It is done through application of remote sensing on a group of digitalised negatives of vertical aerial photographs of The National Geodesist Office, images of Google Earth and oblique photos. While flying above Croatian coast, one gets a very good impression not only of the archaeology sites but also of the landscape. The results permitted the observation of several features regarding the geomorphology of the area, and they constituted the basis for dealing with archaeology and landscape in the Croatian coastal zone. Croatian coast is geomorphology different then other part of Mediterranean so visibility of sites is different. The most visible archaeological features are: hill-forts, antique building, medieval structure, tumulus, dry stone walls (different function a time), antique fields division, and submerged buildings. Also, paper will try to point out some misleading traces. This paper is possible due to changing of police of Croatian Government which rules are less restrictive now than in past especially in ex Yugoslavian time.
