Sažetak
To asses in wich way the posttraumatic stress disorder influence the quality and satisfaction in marital relations in veterans wifes. The target group consisted of wifes from 154 veterans who were refered to psychiatric treatment in Clinical Hospital Mostar because of war related PTSD. Control group consist of wifes from 77 veterans with no PTSD. Examinees from comtrol group were contacted trough veteran organizations using snow balling method. We used a General demografic questionare, Harvard trauma questionare, version for BiH and Dyadic Adjusment Scale. Wifes from veterans with PTSD had significant lower results on all partners adjusment subscales (adjusment, satisfaction, couple cohesion, affective expresivness) as well as quality of marital relations comparing to results of wifes from veterans with no PTSP. When both partners suffer from PTSD all parameters are even lower except for the results in couple cohesion wich is similar to cohesion of couples with one PTSD member. Veterans wifes have significant emotional and adjusment difficulties when living with partner who is suffering from PTSD and the quality of their marital relations is low. In a case when both partners have PTSD marital relations are even less satisfactory.
