Sažetak
Where the environment of companies in the tourism sector is concerned, there are many factors affecting the business operations of these companies. The impact of these factors is specific to the tourist market. The reason for this can be found in the specific way the tourist market operates in comparison to other types of markets, as well as in the specific features of tourist supply and demand. In a company’ s marketing environment, it is necessary to distinguish between the macro and the micro environment. The macro environment comprises external factors, also known as uncontrollable variables. In the micro environment, a distinction can be made between internal factors and so-called close external factors, which represent the factors of the business and industrial environment. When looking at the impact of business and industrial environment factors on the operations of tourism companies from a SWOT perspective, these factors may be seen as either an opportunity or a threat. For the tourist enterprises of the Primorsko-Goranska County, the impact of business and industrial environment factors largely represents an opportunity for improving their business.
