Sažetak
The research that studies the influence of social status on the results of motor ability tests for children (aged 3.5 – 4.5 years) was conducted on a sample of ninety children. It is not a very large sample, but it goes over the limit set at 50 and is thus considered large enough. The aim of the research was to determine the existence of a relationship between the area of motor knowledge and abilities and parents’ professions, as well as family stability. Within the regression analysis, in which the criteria were parents’ profession and family stability, an analysis that included predictor variables (as in motor abilities and knowledge) was conducted separately. The analysis revealed that the starting hypothesis was not verified, since practically no connection could be observed when observing the relationship between individual variables of the predictor set. However, if looking more globally, as the values obtained by the t-test indicate, it is evident that those coefficients are important and relatively high (MJK-0.62 ; OTC-0.94 ; OBIT-0.80). Several tests show a possible connection between those two areas, but their number is negligible when we consider the rest of the motor tests of knowledge and abilities. It can also be concluded that children of that age mostly live together with both parents who have approximately the same level of education. The number of variables should increase within the same social status, as the status by itself may hide some connections with motor tests.
