Hidrotermalna sinteza poroznog hidroksiapatita dopiranog silicijem
Hydrothermal synthesis of porous Si doped hydroxyapatite scaffolds from aragonitic cuttlefish bones, (Seppia Officinalis L., Adriatic Sea), at 200 °C has been studied. Silicon (TEOS) was added on account of phosphorus in amounts of 1 to 5 wt %. The phase composition of converted samples was examined by: X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT- IR). The microstructure of native and transformed bones was studied by scanning electron microscopy. Incorporation of silicon results in formation of defect structure of hydroxyapatite (HA). FT-IR analysis confirmed substitution of PO43– with SiO44– and removal of OH– groups to maintain the charge balance. XRD of hydrothermal converted and heat treated samples at 1200 °C revealed formation of Ca3(PO4)2, which was correlated with silicon content in the HA structure. The porous channeled architecture of aragonitic cuttlefish bones is completely preserved by hydrothermal treatment.
