Mineral composition of corn plant material after fertilization with fermented meat-bone meal
Meat and bone meal (MBM) is a dried product of the rendering industry. Due to EU regulations, the use of MBM as a content in feed was banned, and incineration was determined as a sanation method of this organic waste (1774/2002/EC). However, this measure lead to a storage problem and incapacity of adequate sanation of organic waste. Anaerobic digestion is a biochemical process in which particular kinds of bacteria digest biomass in an oxygen-free environment. Fermented residue obtained after the anaerobic fermentation can be used as bio-fertilizer, as well as for the purpose of irrigation of arable land.
