Mass Spectrometric Study of Quinolylaminophosphonate Derivatives

Synthetic and spetroscopic studies of alpha-aminophosphonate derivatives continue to attract considerable attention due to various biological properties of these organophosphorus compounds [1]. One of the simpliest synthetic methods towards aminophosphonates is Kabachnik-Fields reaction, three-component one-pot reaction of amine, carbonyl and hydrophosphorous compound [2]. We have recently directed our attention towards microwave-assisted synthesis of aminophosphonate derivatives [3]. Using Kabachnik-Fields approach, a series of aminophosphonate diester derivatives was prepared and some unexpected by-products were isolated. In this work, we present the mass spectrometric study of diester 2-quinolylaminophosphonate, along with the diester and unusual monoester 3-quinolylaminophosphonate derivatives.
