Sweet´s syndrome: clinical spectrum
Acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis (Sweet´s sindrome) belongs to a group of paraneoplastic dermatoses. The disease is characterized by fewer, painful erythematous plaques or nodules, neutrophilia and neutrophilic infiltration in the upper and middle dermis. We report four cases recorded at our Department during the last 7 years. We confirmed the polyetiologic nature of the disease, and pointed to the involvement of immunologic mechanisms in its pathogenesis. In one female patient, Sweet´s syndrome developed after cholecystectomy, which is a rare stimulus for the disease. She also had Kőbner´s phenomenon – like lesions. The treatment with prednisione and potassium iodide was successful.
