Physical-mechanical properties of single jersey knitted fabric knitted with cotton yarn of different noil percent

The nominal yarns count of 20 tex were spun in the classical combed route with 14, 16, 18 i 20 %. The yarns were used for knitting single jersey fabrics on the circular knitting machine of fineness of E17 and diameter of 93 mm. The fabrics were knitted with two different input yarn tension of 0, 15 cN/tex and 0, 40 cN/tex. The basic physical-mechanical properties of yarn and knitted fabric were investigated. The yarn breaking force ranged between 346 cN and 381 cN, whereas the breaking extension ranged from 5, 4 % to 6, 0 %. The values of fabric mass per unit area amount 102 g/m2 to 117 g/m2. The horizontal density of fabric ranged between 9, 2 to 9, 9 loops/cm, and is lower than vertical density that ranged from 13, 3 to 15, 4 loops/cm.
