The natural levels of aluminium, cadmium and lead in wildlife mushrooms in Eastern Croatia

For various wildlife mushrooms from the district of Eastern Croatia (Slavonia region), contents of aluminium, cadmium and lead were determined. Analyses were performed by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy. The aluminium contents were between 9.82 and 32.83, with average of 18.40 mg/kg dry weight, for edible mushrooms and 8.78 and 25.25, with the average of 18.40 mg/kg dry weight, for inedible and poisonous mushrooms. The lead contents were between 0.0 and 7.72, with the average of 1.21 mg/kg dry weight for edible mushrooms and between 0.0 and 1.78, with the average of 0.48 mg/kg dry weight, for inedible and poisonous mushrooms. The cadmium contents were between 0.33 and 4.87, with averaging 1.22 mg/kg dry weight, for edible mushrooms and 0.30 and 4.27 with the average of 1.69 mg/kg dry weight, for inedible and poisonous mushrooms.
