CO-MODALITY IN ZAGREB PUBLIC TRANSPORT
In this paper key concepts and possible implementation of co-modality in public transport are described. End-to-end quality of service (QoS) for end users (including travel time, comfort, security risk, etc.) and network performance (for operators) are simultaneously considered the key criteria for effective co-modality. The problem of co-modality is especially considered in the P&R system, which represents the interface between the individual automotive, pedestrian and bicycle transport on the one hand and public transport (tram, bus and new light railway system) on the other hand. The real problem of intermodal interfaces and poor connection between various transport modes (bus, tram and new light rail system) require holistic multilevel approach, real-time transport information and a new integrated management system. These systems have to be designed as a part of the Zagreb Intelligent Transport System (ZITS). New terms such as co-modality have to be integrated as technical terms.
