Croatia, as a small post-transition country, is faced with the challenge of initiating and developing regional clusters, because they became the strategic tools of competitiveness building in the era of globalisation. As the prerequisites of competitiveness building and employment growth, they are at the focus of global and EU development analysis. The basic hypothesis of the paper is that the strategic development goal of Croatian economy is to initiate and develop its competitive advantages through regional clusters. The goal of this paper is to analyse the regional clusters initiatives and to evaluate their potentials in competitiveness and new employment growth in Croatia.
