Canonical Relations Between Basic Kinetic Elements and Motor Abilities

The research was conducted on a sample of 124, 15-years-old, male respondents, with a goal of determining the relation, quality and the degree of correlation between basic kinetic elements with manifest and latent motor abilities. A total of 21 kinetic measures obtained with the help of instruments and with use of the ergometrical method were used for evaluating basic kinetic elements. For each motion, basic kinetic elements, namely resistance (kg), time of motion duration (s) and the amplitude or motion path (m) were isolated with the use of the kinesiometer. Variables were chosen so they hypothetically cover basic kinetic elements in kinetic structures manifested in individual and repeating movement, defined as time dimensionality of the kinetic structure and tensodynamic dimensionality of the kinetic structure. For the evaluation of motor abilities, 26 motor tests were chosen in accordance with the structure of motor abilities defined as explosive, repetitive and static strength, speed, coordination, flexibility, balance and precision. The correlation between basic kinetic elements defined in such a way and manifest and latent motor abilities has been calculated with the use of the canonical correlative analysis – COCAIN (K. Momirović, M. Gredelj, M. Herak, 1980.). The canonical analysis has shown a very high correlation of the system of basic kinetic elements and the system of motor abilities. The set of variables of basic kinetic elements and the set of variables of motor abilities were submitted to the canonical correlative analysis, which indicated significant relations between the treated areas. Nine canonical dimensions sufficient to explain the variability between the systems of variables of basic kinetic elements and variables of motor abilities were extracted for the exploitation of mutual variance of the analyzed areas.
