Sažetak
Proximal tubular damage is an early sign of renal impairement in endemic (Balkan) nephropathy (EN), and low molwcular proteiuria is hallmark of it. Detremination of alpha 1 microglobulinuria (AF1) and albuminuria are essential parts in diagnostic algoritm that is currently reevaluated. However, hypertension is not only related to microalbuminuria but also to increased urinary excretion of alfa 1 microglobulin and microalbuminuria in EN were analized in 754 inhabitans of theee Croatian endemic villages and control village of Klakar.
