MONITORING AND IMPROVING QUALITY OF WORK IN SCHOOL HEALTH CARE THROUGH USE OF SCHOOL CHILD HEALTH BOOKLET
First child health booklet has been printed in Croatia in 1985 and it followed growth and development of a child from delivery to sixth year. Ministry for health and social care of Republic Croatia decided in 2006. to represent unique Health booklet of a child form birth to eighteenth. Information gathered in School child health booklet (SCHB) enable systematic surveillance with unique methodology of growth and development. It is possible to follow other entities: anomalies, anthropometric measures, risks (neurorisks, blood pressure, nutrition, hearing, sight and others), social surroundings and family history. Information are base for creating records which will have operative value and it will enable rapid and diverse intervention (with results follow-up and self-evaluation) with a purpose of protection and improvement children’ s health. SCHB is, primarily, aimed to preventive health care: regular health checkups, screenings, control and aimed checkups, but it provides following of illness, radiological checkups, dental checkups, implemented health education and consultation work. SCHB is excellent preparation for informatisation in school health services. Important in disintegrated model of health care for school children and adolescents accessibility of information on procedures performed to the doctors who give preventive health protection and/or cure school children and adolescents
