Analyses of Different Codes for QPSK Modulation in Satellite Communication

In this paper, QPSK modulation is combined with Convolutional, Golay or Reed-Solomon coding and analysed in a satellite communication channel through the use of National Instrument’ s LabVIEW Modulation Toolkit. This work first reviews the basic theory of QPSK modulation and coding. The simulation result is a BER versus Eb/N0 graph. It is shown that RS coded QPSK signal performs better then Golay or Convolutional coded and is therefore recommended in satellite communication.
