Freetrade Area in Southeast Europe: Potentials and Reality
The paper focuses on differences between the "old" approach on realizing a free trade zone in Southeast Europe that was based on the network of bilateral trade agreements and the new approach that is based on a single regional trade agreement. The new model that is often called "enlarged CEFTA" and its advantages are analysed in relation to the old CEFTA, which had been downsizing in 2004 and again in 2007. In the framework of theoretical findings on static and dynamic impacts of regional integrations, the current situation, problems and potentials of free trade are in Southeast Europe are examined.
