High accuracy digital nanovoltmeter for maintenance of voltage standards

At the Primary Electromagnetic Laboratory, which is a part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb, the maintenance of the unit of volt is one of its important tasks, due to its role as a holder of national standards of voltage. For the comparison of voltage standards (primary Zener references) a direct method is used, in which a digital nanovoltmeter is essential part for accurate measurement of small voltage differences. Developed digital nanovoltmeter is based on the use of sigma-delta (Σ -Δ ) ADC and simultaneously measurement on two input channels, taking the role of comparator as well. It has a very high resolution, stability and input resistance, and has been tested and used in such application, which is presented in this paper
