Dynamics of hand grinding at shipyards
This paper presents the results of the measuring the dynamics of the process of grinding plate edges, of the relief of the cut-off edge surface and welds, in which several hand grinding machines have been used; the plates used were that of the ship section panels. The applied measuring method was based on recording the generator output as a function of time. The obtained mathematical relations between the developed grinding power outputs and the number of grinding machines used in simultaneous operation, the value of intermitence and mathematical models of the generator set. The following has been found out: with such a relatively favourable arrangement of the grinding machines no interference occured in the closed spaces of the ship and the interval when a larger number of grinding machines were used in simultaneous operation occured rarely during one working shift: besides, during the machining process the amount of the developed effective power was considerably lower than the possible one.
