Wallachia and Bosnia Between King Matthias Corvinus and the Ottomans

The paper attempts to analyze and compare, in the context of the Ottoman threat, the policies of King Matthias towards two of his vassals, the Wallachian prince Vlad III Dracula-Tepes (the Impaler) and the last Bosnian king Stjepan (Stephen) Tomašević. The main events taken under analysis are the armed conflicts which opposed Vlad Tepes and Stjepan Tomasevic to the Sultan, in 1462 and 1463 respectively, when two large Ottoman armies attacked Wallachia and Bosnia.
