The importance of parking space quality in tourist destination

A hastened development of the degree of motorisation has lead to difficulties related to the freedom of movement of vehicles on public-traffic areas and even more to those related to finding space for their parking. This all causes certain consequences which are manifested in the reduction of the capacity of roads, the decrease of speed of circulation, a higher number of traffic accidents and road congestions, and these are the exact phenomena that want to be avoided, especially in the central areas of tourist destinations. Within these central areas, traffic problems are the most prominent whilst the possibility of resolving them is the least practicable. The central tourist area with a lot of attractions, spatial and monumental values is the area of a large appeal for tourists. Since the highest number of attractions is concentrated in the centre of tourist destinations, it is clear that the largest problems appear also in this area ; a large number of tourists, as well as domicile inhabitants, want to enter as closely as possible to the central urban and touristic area by their vehicles.
