Statistical data in the function of optimisation of traffic load within the city of Rijeka

The objective of the automatic traffic management system of the City of Rijeka and its technological possibilities is the optimal management of traffic within the completely defined spatial limitations of traffic areas. Modern technology in traffic management enables the management of traffic lights signalisation depending on the real (current) traffic loads in a traffic network. The processed data collected by the automatic traffic management system are used for the monitoring and analysis of traffic loads within the urban network. The obtained statistical data are processed and analysed graphically and then submitted in the form of reports on traffic loads to interested offices and institutions within the City of Rijeka. This paper analyses statistical data on traffic loads within the City of Rijeka in the period from 2003 to 2007.
