Organic matter-trace metal interactions in natural waters
Valuable information concerning the nature and properties of organic substances in natural waters can be obtained by studying the interaction of metal ions with organic matter which could influence their availability to aquatic organisms and their association with particles and sediments in the system. The amount of present complexing ligands could be determined by the titration of the sample with a standard copper solution (or the metal ion of choice) and following the progress of titration with anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV).
