Characterization of Laser-Induced Plasma for Treatment of Materials
Laser-induced plasma of various materials was characterized by means of cavity ringdown spectroscopy (CRDS) and time gated optical emission spectroscopy or Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy – (LIBS). The CRDS technique provides information about the plume dynamics, velocity distributions, angular spread of the plume and column number densities of atoms/molecules. LIBS is useful for fast analysis of target compositions. We show results for the characterization of lithium ablation by means of Nd-YAG lasers.
