Reduction of oscillating demand magnification effect in supply chain

Uncertain product demand and distorted information along the supply chain can lead to tremendous inefficiencies like excessive inventory, misguided capacity plans, missed production schedules, poor costumer services and ineffective transportation planning. Because costumer demand is rarely perfect stable, business must forecast its own demand in order to properly position inventory. The aim of this paper was to detect the main prerequisite for demand magnification effect, called Bullwhip effect, in supply chain and to introduce the simple approach by linear mathematical model for production planning and inventory control in all supply chain stages.
