DESIGN THINKING - MULTIDISCIPLINARY WAYS OF SOLVING PROBLEMS IN WOOD INDUSTRY
"D. scholl" classes are educational units composed of interdisciplinary teams of students and supervisors. They include both the university and the industry and together they are intrducting a new culture of "design thinking" following the example of the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Standford. D.school is based on design thinking and it emphasies the importance of various scieces and their colaboration with the aim to solve complex problems. Four faculties and five companies worked together on the d.school project which is presented in this paper. Eight international groups of students from Ljubljana and foreign universities under the supervision of thair professors prepaid 20 drafts. Many protptypes were presented at 18th Internationl Ljubljana furniture fair and three were awarded.
