Testing of the Sports Hall Dome Roof in Zadar
The paper focuses on static and dynamic analysis of the sports hall dome’ s behaviour in Zadar. The dome represents an independent structure covering the sports hall and adjacent premises. The dome’ s perimeter is made of concrete, with some large openings, whereas the middle part is made of steel, creating in this way a single layered combined shell. The dome is a part of the spherical surface spanning 140 m and ca 30 m high. The middle steel part of the dome roof spans ca 90 m. The relationship between the height and span of the whole dome is 30/140=4, 7 and the relationship on the steel part is 10/90=1/9. (Figure 1). At the foundation part the dome roof ends with the 2, 3/1, 2 m foundation concrete ring prestressed with 15 000 kN. The concrete part of the shell is 20 cm thick, and the steel part of the shell corresponds to the outer diameter of the 40, 6 cm tubes. The steel shell’ s tube is 5-6 mm thick.
