The influence of yarn count to the transfer of heat and vapour trough fabrics
The investigation of heat and water vapour transfer trough textile is of great importance since those properties play an important role in determination of thermophysiological comfort. In this paper, the influence of yarn count to the changes of knit structure is observed trough knitted fabric moduli. For the investigation were used knitted single jersey fabrics produced from cotton as well as blend cotton/modal yarns of counts 14, 17 and 20 tex. The measurement of heat and water vapour resistance was carried out using the sweating guarded hotplate. The results obtained indicate significant changes of heat flux during the wet measurements, where the difference between the heat fluxes for the fabrics knitted from the yarns of counts 14 and 20 tex is up to 13%. The changes of the heat flux during the dry measurements for the same observed samples is up to 3%.
