Interaction of depressive symptoms and diabetes-related distress with glycaemic control in type 2 diabetic patients
The relationship between depression and blood glucose control in Type 2 diabetes is insufficiently understood. This study suggests that depression alone does not predict poorer glycaemic control than in the symptom-free individuals. Rather than mere depression, it is the interaction between depression and diabetes-related distress that compromises the ability of Type 2 diabetic patients to successfully control their diabetes.
