Quay and slipway on river Sava and quay on river Drava in Croatia

This paper describes three structures necessary for river transportation in Croatia. One quay for bulk cargo on the River Sava at Slavonski Brod, and slipway on the River Sava near the town of Sisak had already been constructed, and the other quay on the River Drava at town Osijek has been designed. The first phase of quay structure at Slavonski Brod of 2x60 m has been constructed of in-situ made reinforced concrete as well as of prefabricated elements. The slipway near Sisak consisted of 11 reinforced concrete girders, whose inclined and horizontal parts have a length of 41 m and 26 m respectively. The whole structure covers an area of 82x86 m. The structure extends underwater for a sufficient distance to enable the ships to float on and off. The 4x60m reinforced concrete quay at Osijek has been designed. The quay structure will be constructed of in-situ made reinforced concrete.
