Different Cross-border Energy Transits in Future Croatian Power System
This paper presents computer model of the Croatian electric power system in 2012 using PowerWorld Simulator 13.0. Generation and load pattern for 2006 are entered. All input data are obtained from the Croatian electric utility HEP. For the purpose of obtaining model of Croatian power system for 2012 further work is done. New generation and transmission facilities that are planned to be in operation till 2012 are modeled. In this way, the created computer model is used to simulate four scenarios of power flows in the Croatian electric power system for 2012. First scenario is base case 2012 with increased consumption and same cross-border power flows with regards to 2006. The additional three scenarios simulate different cross-border interchanges. Simulation results are presented and conclusions are carried out. Several weak points in Croatian transmission network are pointed out which needs further investigation.
