Creating (gender) scandal: Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Media
This paper analyses the position of women in terms of media framing on the example of Hillary Rodham Clinton. The argument is that the scandals around her were created by the media because of her gender in order to create a story which did not exist simply to entertain the citizens. In comparison of Bill and Hillary Clinton it can be seen that where Bill was perceived as a good president who did something wrong, Hillary was perceived as a complete female failure. This paper argues that this happened due to the media framing which imposed evaluation before the people and that it is the media which imposed gender stereotypes before (in this case American) society.
