The study of different carbon materials as carburizer in foundry
In this work the tests were performed on petroleum cokes obtained from coking feedstocks of various origin and quality. Petroleum coke obtained from domestic oil residue from Moslavina basin at 1300°C has a interlayer spacing of 3, 443 nm and a crystallite height of 5, 5 nm what means a good crystalline structure. That is important for its solubility during the carburizing process so used petroleum coke can be recommend for use as carburiser in foundry.
