MATHEMATICAL MODELING, SIMULATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF BULK METAL FORMING PROCESS
In the paper a method of mathematical modeling and optimization of bulk metal forming is being presented. The application of mathematical models in bulk metal forming processes is founded on implementation of modeling, simulation and optimization which is base for transfer of the conventional processes into the modern ones. In this way forming technologies could be improved implementing appropriate modeling, simulation and optimization methods without remarkable financial investment. The influential parameters of process are chosen on the basis of an experimental knowledge and theoretical data on chosen process. Relationship between input variables and output effects of bulk metal forming process R = R (xi) is established. The represented example of bulk forming force modeling and the parameters optimization of forming process shows how with relatively few experimental data can be obtained mathematical model of bulk forming force which is the base for the determining of optimal values of the wall thickness, friction and work piece diameter. In the paper used simulation technique by means of finite element method (using Abaqus software) have an especially meaning regarding process optimization.
